Product Info
Essential Oils: Lavender, Frankincense, Bergamot
Essential oils enter our bodies either through absorption through the skin, or inhalation via the nose. The skin is the body’s largest organ and anything we apply to our skin is absorbed into our bloodstream. When essential oils are applied to the skin they are absorbed and travel around the body via the bloodstream. In this way they are able to deliver a range of benefits to the body’s systems and organs. Absorption is increased by massage, as this increases the circulation in that area of the body. Heat can have a similar effect, allowing better absorption of the molecules in the oil. Perfect for a relaxing bath or for massaging directly onto skin.
Ingredients: Sweet Almond Oil, Pure Essential Oils, Polysorbate 80 (100ML)
Lavandula angustifolia, better known as Lavender, is a perennial evergreen plant that has produced the most used essential oil in the world for over 2500 years. When used in aromatherapy, this mild sedative is reputed to reduce stress by relaxing the brain waves, which is also said to reduce cortisol levels that contribute to the stress hormone. Due to its calming and relaxing properties, it can work as a sleep aid for those suffering from insomnia.
Frankincense Essential Oil has been referred to as a “pure incense”, thus its powerful fragrance has been linked with enhancing spiritual experiences. It is believed to reduce feelings of anxiety.
Historically, Bergamot fruit juice was used by the indigenous people of Italy to treat malaria and to expel intestinal worms, while Bergamot Oil was used in Italian folk medicine as an antiseptic and to reduce fevers. When Bergamot Essential Oil was used as a flavoring in black tea, the tea became known as Earl Grey Tea. In Ayurvedic medicine, Bergamot Oil has been used to soothe acne, skin rashes, sores and sore throats, and bladder infections.
